Membership Covenant
Coram Deo Reformed Baptist Church exists for the propagation of the Gospel, the edification of the saints, and to encourage all brothers and sisters in Christ to live life before God.
Having been brought by the Holy Spirit to repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ1 according to the will of the Father,2 and having been baptized in faith in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit,3 we do now joyfully and solemnly covenant together. By the gracious aid of God,4 we promise and commit:
To trust and obey the Word of God,5
Acknowledging its supreme and final authority,6
Confessing and defending the doctrines of the church,7
Striving for the advancement of this church in knowledge, holiness, and comfort;8
To promote and protect the unity of the church by:9
Walking together in Christian love,10
Speaking in ways that are edifying,11
Seeking reconciliation by humbly repenting and freely offering forgiveness,12
Serving and providing care for one another as members of one body in Christ,13
Submitting to the leaders who have been granted authority by Christ through the church, recognizing that they must give an account,14
Working together in accordance with this Covenant, our Church Constitution, Statement of Faith, and Confession,15
Watching over one another and receiving admonishment as occasion may require,16
Participating in and accepting the discipline of the church concerning doctrine and conduct;17
To take part in the edification of the church by:18
Giving our time and money cheerfully and regularly to the ministries of the church,19
Serving the church using our spiritual gifts,20
Praying for the church as a whole and for its members,21
Participating in the life of the church by actively engaging in worship, fellowship and ministry, regularly and faithfully, unless providentially hindered,22
Giving the church a sacred pre-eminence over all institutions of human origin,23
Observing the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper that Christ has given to the church,24
Fulfilling family obligations and commitments,25
Engaging in family worship and private devotion,26
Raising those under our care in the fear of the Lord;27
To be faithful kingdom witnesses by:28
Seeking the salvation of others through the proclamation of the gospel throughout the world,29
Aiding the poor and oppressed,30
Living with humility, justice, mercy, holiness, and peace in the world,31
To unite as soon as possible with another church of like faith and commitment to God’s Word if we move from this place.32
Now to Him who is able to keep us from stumbling and to present us blameless before the presence of His glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever.33 Amen.
