In this article, we will explore what the office of Pastor/Elder/Overseer means, and also some of the common misconceptions about this office. The terms of Pastor, Elder, or Overseer are each terms that describe the same biblical office for the “undershepherd” of Jesus Christ. At Coram Deo Reformed Baptist Church, we have opted to simply use the title of Elder to refer to this office, so for the purposes of this article we will use that term.
